Lahore Marathon 2006
The 2006 Lahore marathon was sponsored by Standard Chartered Bank for a second time in a row and took place on the 29th of January, 2006. The 5, 10 and 42 Km event was inaugurated in 2005, thanks to a relentless effort by the Cheif Minister's Task Force in Lahore and excellentsponsorship by the Standard Chartered Bank. The marathon gathered controversy because it isa mixed-sex race, which was opposed by many conservatives around the nation. It is upto the local governments to arrange such events in Karachi & Islamabad...

I remmeber a news on ARY which said that winner of last year's marathon has not been given the prize money for winning the marathon!!

And Abrar, are you serious about that? I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't. :S
here all the marathons are won by the dang Kenyans .. they just don't get tired man ..
