Ignorance is bliss - Talking point.

This lady, callieischatty posted a contentious issue on her topic regarding racial profiling. I happened to trip over her blog and I found the most preposterous and offensive idea I've ever heard. Take a look at this:

I don't think people should be held without charges but to search someone with the name Mohammed who is 25 before they get on a plane or a train may save lives someday and is a small thing in terms of overall civil liberties.

Searching people named Mohammad may save lives? I would tear this lady's words apart if only I had any aspirations of weeding out ignorance from this world. Unfortunately, through experience and the wisdom of others, it is nearly impossible to completely abolish shallow thinking. That is why, I've simply written two tiny little paragraphs bashing her uneducated opinion. It's not the best response, but when I read this lady's comments, I was in total shock and couldn't respond by anything better than:

"Are you freaking serious about frisking men who's names are Mohammad?"

Anyway, here's the rest of my rhetoric:

"I've heard ignorant remarks before, but this is way out of hand. What about people who are not named Mohammad and have fundamentalistic ideologies? You think it's ok to let those people go and search every person by the name of Mohammad? How about people whose names are Ahmed or Mahmood or Mehmet or Mahomet? After all, they're all variations of the same name. The name of a noble and pious person whose mission in life was to spread love, peace and mercy in the hearts of all mankind. Lady, you need exposure. Perhaps you need to leave your town and meet other people and maybe... just maybe it'll help enlighten your ignorant mentality.

How does one's name reflect their ideologies? According to your logic, Muslim countries should search every passenger by the name of George, and Donald, John, Condoleezza and Paul! It sounds ridiculous now doesn't it? I think American high schools need a stronger foundation so that this huge aura of ignorance is eliminated."

Shaima's blog contains a lovely rebuttal to callie's comments and I just hope to add a few of my own opinions about the topic. If the lady responds, I'm going to write a much more thought out answer rather than throwing a fit.

Instead of responding to what I had to say, all you did was say: "Your anger and rude insults only show you have nothing but hot air to say". How convenient it is for you to simply ignore all that I said and talk about how my words were meaningless.

wheres calliechattycalliechatchat or whatever her name was. word is she like took down her blog or something. i duno. but what i do know is that she does need to get out of her hick house some more, stop watching BS one sided news and like meet some people. the people causing problems in this world arent muslims in general, its ignorant people like yourselves. they can be muslim, jewish, christian, hindu, buddhist, shintoist, agnostics, atheists, or what have you. if your ignorant, and unwilling to learn, your gona turn out like mis calliechat here..with no firends except those that share the same horribly uneducated unenlightened redneck view of the world. its those people that cause problems, and since calliechat probably thinks that racial profiling will help bring world peace and save lives, I would like to add that her idea is only going to cause a bigger uproar and isn't going to solve anything. obviously. and if she thinks maybe if the 'threats' should be educated, then i'm sure I can agree, except that the threats that need to be educated are not muslims. they are the ignorant. and that means you callie. people like you are the ones that need help. not a 17 year old palestinian shepard boy named muhammad. people that govern over these decisions of racial profiling need the help, not a 25 yr old nuclear scientist from India named Muhammad. People like yourself, who don't leave their tight opinionated communites, and most likely aren't even religious, nor do you speak/want to learn another language, therfore confirming your ignorance in this world, are the ones who need help..not some egyptian waiter at IHOP named Muhammad. Why don't you go open a book or a website thats not American, and you'll see that you're the minority that needs help. Not my brothers named "Muhammad". Punk.
