A Critical Mind - Perspective

"The Holocaust Industry" by
Dr. Norman G. Finkelstein

I was surfing through one of the many websites that I normally do for collecting various pieces of information and different views on current and past global affairs, when I came across this interesting website, owned by a writer from Buffalo, NY I believe. He has authored a very controversial title called: "The Holocaust Industry", which by the name itself, can be judged of its content.

After reading a few comments on Dr. Norman's website, I am inclined to believe that he is utterly opposed to the idea of using the Holocaust as an excuse to garner sympathy and most importantly, financial benefits. He does make quite a few interesting, yet highly contentious arguments which is most likely the reason for his fame or notoriety; however you may put it. To visit his website, follow the link below, or click on the image above:

yeah i have this book at home. rather enlightening to read from a jewish perspective. i saw finkelstein give a lecture a year or two ago. was impressive. let's not forget though that there have been worse genocides in history that make the holocaust look like a circus such as the black african slave trade and the slaughters of the native indians when europeans came to north america.

That is very true. Although, the holocaust was a large scale extermination of a certain people, and hence it was wrong. So were the extermination campaigns elsewhere, such as in Algeria, Albania, former Yugoslavia (Especially in Srebrenica, where 7000 men were lined up and shot). Any such outright gross human rights violation is simply incorrect and a sign of intolerance and antagonism. The only difference is, that the Jewish people have major influence in every branch of the Western media, and hence the even receives much more attention than other such crimes against humanity. I don't say that the Holocause does not deserve the condolence and remembrance it receives, rather, that we remember all crimes against humanity equally and work together to prevent such horrendous events in the future.

Also, I thought the Finkelstein mostly talked about how the Jewish people in the west have used the holocaust as an excuse to make money, and hence the name: "Holocaust Industry"?

I'll take a look into it. Thanks for the recommendation :). I know it's difficult to be unbiased, but I hope this magazine that you've mentioned is not overtly tainted. I'm highly opposed to all modes of biased media and so I stick to watching FOX news because we all know how impartial they are :P
